Funny Moments : Prank on Skipper Sourav by Team India

Sourav Ganguly is India`s Greatest Captain Ever, On the field he was a serious & aggressive captain. So when the Indian Cricket players played a April fool prank on him few years back when he was still captain, he had no clue about it. Yuvraj Singh shares this story with us in the Documentary Sourav Ganguly – The Warrior Prince.

Yuvi said that a few of the boys made a fake Times of India newspaper with statements from dada about different players, Like : ‘Yuvraj, Bhajji is very indisciplined. He never listens to anyone.’ ,’Rahul Dravid dosen’t agree with me on anything.’ etc.

So early morning the team came-up to Sourav before the match, all upset & angry & demanding a answer from Sourav. Harbhajan said ” What is this Sourav ?” & walked off angrily. Then Yuvi started & slowly everyone started to show their dis-consent.

Dada went red in the face with anger and demanded an explanation from everyone about the false comments being printed! Just to irritate him further, Ashish Nehra took his bag and left the room very dejected with the rest of the team following him. Dada became so serious that he promised to resign from the team if any of the comments were true. DADA said “Boys if I said anything like this, I`l resign just now”.

Finally it was Rahul Dravid who couldn’t stand to see Sourav like that & stated laughing which disclosed the whole prank.

One of the funniest moments in Indian Cricket is how Yuvi describes it, but we will say that’s how much love, bond the team had under Ganguly. Truly an Inspirational leader, Loved every inch by his team-mates!
